Course Objectives

This course aims to give the theoretical and experimental basis of organic chemistry for

non-chemistry students.

Expectation from students

students are expected to share efficiently during the lecture class, They expected to be able to use English book as a course reference.   all students  are welcomed to open discussion in the course related topics . Attendance lectures and lab sessions are essential according to king abdulaziz university roles and regulation.

Learning Resources

Text books: (you will find an electronic copy of references book on  my web page)

  • "Organic chemistry, by Graham Solomons TW, Craig B Fryhle, 8thed., 2007.

Course Grading

  • Two quizzes 15 Marks each.
  • Attendance and participation: 5 Marks.
  • Lab 25 Marks
  • Final exams 40 Marks

Notes:  an acceptable excuse must be given in case of nonattendance
